We may use aggregated, non-personally identifying information to operate, analyze, improve, and optimize our website and service.

4. How we use the information

Our data collection allows us and the advertising networks we use on the website to understand your activity on our website and on other websites. We may recognize your devices to provide you with personalized experiences and relevant content across the devices you use. Our platform uses a variety of technologies to collect this information, including persistent and session cookies, web beacons, and pixel-tracking technology. The information we collect includes the number of log-ins, actions taken, data displayed or clicked on (e.g., UI elements, links), and other login information (e.g., browser type, IP address, date and time of access, cookie ID, referrer URL, etc.), as well as the support of a project or campaign. We also collect the information you choose to provide us in relation to your fundraiser or project, and we display it through our platform. For example, you can provide a project or donation title, choose to upload images, and describe your donation goal(s) or campaign. When you make payments or donations to support a campaign or project on the Backmywork.com Platform, we collect your contact details (such as name and email address), zip code, country, and any other information you choose to provide us (such as a description of why you have donated or made the relevant payment). Our payment processors collect your credit or debit card details and other information necessary to process the donation, such as your home address, telephone numbers, email addresses, and login and password details.

We use the data we collect to operate and improve offerings through the website; to help authenticate your identity when you visit and transact with the website; to prevent fraud; to remember your preferences and registration information; to present, help measure, and research the effectiveness of our various offerings; to customize e-mail communications (by determining which e-mails you open and act upon); and to customize the content provided to you.

We may use this data to maintain and improve the website, fulfill your requests, and, when authorized by you, contact you and detect and defend against fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity.

We will not use the personal information we collect for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without providing you with notice and/or updating this Privacy Policy.

5. Data sharing with third parties

When you use the website to make a purchase or otherwise make a contribution or donation to support an Artiste, creative, or individual’s campaign or project, we will share your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and occupation with the creator so that they can recognize and thank you or fulfill any obligations they may have.

The Creator may also use that personal information to contact you with more information about the mission and activities of that campaign or project.

Examples of these practices include: sending a thank-you letter to acknowledge a donation; sending out by post or email advertising or marketing materials to you about the campaign or project you supported; or contacting you because you have contributed in the past to ask you for further support for that campaign or project or a new project.

We do not need your consent to process your data for legal purposes or for many administrative purposes, but in some cases, we may need and will request your consent for direct marketing purposes. To the extent we share any such personal information with third-party campaigns or fundraisers that you have supported, those third parties shall treat it in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

We share data with our service providers, including ad networks, website analytics companies, and hosting partners. We do not otherwise sell, license, or share information that individually identifies our platform users with any other individuals or entities. However, we may share your information with affiliated businesses and third parties if necessary to provide our services or products to you, in response to legal processes, legal requests, claims that any content violates the rights of third parties, or as otherwise required by law or for protection of the rights, property, or personal safety of our users, us, or our personnel.

Where we disclose personal information for a purpose set forth herein, we enter into a contract with the third party that describes the purpose and requires the third-party recipient to both keep that personal information confidential and not use it for any purpose except performing the contract.
