My name is Musbau Akin Adeleke, a.k.a Black Votary. I’m a recording artiste, song writer, cinematographer and a video editor.

Generally, Afrobeats is my genre, although I can perform other genres like Soul, Pop and Dance hall. I love Afrobeats because it is a representation of where I come from and most importantly, its general acceptance worldwide keeps me motivated.

 

My inspiration is drawn from my immediate world, from what I see and what I hear to what comes to my imagination. Music for me is art, so anything around me that draws my interest can prompt me to pick up my pen and write. The melodies flow at the sound of my favourite instrumentals.

About The Project

My project, is an EP consisting of five songs, and two music videos. It means a lot to me as I strongly believe that the completion will take me a step further in my music career.

I am soliciting for funds to complete my project and put myself in a position of advantage to grant me the support of labels for promotion.

  • Beat making, recording and final mix and master for 2 songs – 150k
  • Visual Content for one of the songs on the project.
  • (a) Styling- 60k naira per outfit (2 outfits needed for one visual content) – 120k
  • (b) a live video performance session with Glitch, Clout or any other professional visual live band – 200k
  • Internet and social media promotion this entails sponsored ads  for at least 30 days and influencer promotions – 100k

I believe there are still lovers of good music out there who share the same belief as me, people who believe that cruise and explicitness is not everything that Nigerian music entails. There is still space for excellence, professionalism and of course, space for people like me who wants to redefine the face of music generally in this part of the world and reignite the passion of every young person who sees this path as one to greatness.
